Elden Ring Is Just $40 Ahead Of Shadow Of The Erdtree DLC Launch
Skipping this deal is maidenless behavior.
If you have yet to play From Software's award-winning action-RPG, you're in luck: Elden Ring is just $40 at multiple online retailers. The discount applies to physical copies of the PS5, PS4, and Xbox versions at Amazon and Best Buy.
Developed by From Software, Elden Ring iterates on the "Soulsborne" action-RPG formula the studio codified back in 2009 with Demon's Souls, but expands beyond the cramped dungeons and gloomy castles of Demon's and Dark Souls, and into a vast open world packed with things to explore (including plenty of dungeons and castles, to be clear).
This $40 deal is a great time to grab Elden Ring if you haven't. The game doesn't go on sale this low very often, and we're not sure how long this price drop will last. The only time Elden Ring has been cheaper was when it dropped to $35 during last year's Black Friday sales, but this $40 is still an excellent opportunity to pick up the game on console before the giant Shadow of the Erdtree expansion launches on June 21, 2024 with a swathe of new content to explore.
While Shadow of the Erdtree is not a standalone expansion, it's big enough that publisher Bandai Namco is offering a Shadow of the Erdtree Deluxe edition with a collectible statue of the DLC's main boss, Messimer the Impaler. While the DLC is normally $40, PC players can grab it for just $35 at Fanatical. You will need to have made significant progress in the base game to unlock the new area added in Shadow of the Erdtree. Luckily, grabbing Amazon and Best Buy's $40 Elden Ring deal now gives you a couple months to work through the massive open world and challenging boss fights in preparation for the new stuff.
Disclosure: GameSpot and Fanatical are both owned by Fandom.
